Who we are
themoneyballer.com is operated by Money Baller Group LLC, 304 S Jones Blvd, Ste 7886, Las Vegas, NV 89107. You can reach us at contact@themoneyballer.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the site, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have. It covers themoneyballer.com, including the blog under themoneyballer.com/access/.
Accounts and memberships
When you create an account or purchase a membership, we collect and store your name, email address, a securely hashed password, the billing address and state you enter at checkout, how you heard about us if you tell us, and your subscription status and history. We use this information to provide the services you signed up for, manage your subscription, and communicate with you about your account. Saved preferences you create on the site (such as saved filters, dashboards, systems and alert settings) are stored with your account.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number and full payment details are transmitted directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers; we receive and retain only limited information such as the card brand, last four digits, and the status of your transactions. Stripe processes your data in accordance with its own privacy policy. If you choose to pay with PayPal, your payment details are handled by PayPal under its own privacy policy and we receive only your PayPal account email and transaction status.
Bets you track
If you track bets on the site, we store each bet you enter (the game, the pick, its line and price, your stake, any note you add, and the result we grade) with your account. Your bets are private unless you make your tracking page public; a public page shows your record and your bets to anyone, but never your notes.
Public profiles
A handicapper page, or a bet-tracking page you choose to make public, shows the name, photo, biography, links and betting record you choose to publish there. Anyone on the internet can see a public page, so publish only what you are comfortable sharing.
AI assistant
Our Explore assistant, the query translator and generated game previews are built on Claude, a model made by Anthropic. The questions you type, any notes or saved instructions you give it, and the sports data needed to answer are sent to Anthropic to produce the reply, and your conversations are stored with your account so you can return to them. Do not put personal information in your questions that you would not want sent to a third party.
Signing in with Google
If you sign in with Google, Google sends us your verified email address and a Google account identifier, which we link to your account so you can sign in again. We never receive your Google password.
If you sign up for our emails or create an account, your email address is stored with Mailchimp (Intuit), which we use to send newsletters and marketing email. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Account and service email (receipts, renewal notices, password resets, and any alerts you turn on) is sent through Brevo and Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES), each of which handles your address under its own privacy policy.
Push notifications
If you opt in to push notifications (for example, alerts for new picks or for a saved system), your browser gives us a subscription address at its push service (Apple, Google, Microsoft or Mozilla, depending on the browser), which we store with your account and use only to deliver the notifications you chose. You can turn them off on the alerts page or in your browser’s notification settings at any time.
Feedback, messages and comments
When you use the Send Feedback box or email us, we keep your message, the page you sent it from and, if you are logged in, your account, so that we can reply and improve the site.
When you leave a comment on the blog, we keep the comment, the name and email address you enter, and your IP address and browser type. Comments are checked for spam by Akismet (Automattic). A hash of your email address may be sent to Automattic’s Gravatar service to show your profile picture, which is visible to the public next to an approved comment.
Usage, device and log information
Like most websites, our server records each request it receives: your IP address, the page asked for, the time, your browser and the page that sent you. We use these logs to run, secure and fix the site. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type).
Your approximate location
To show you the problem-gambling helpline for your state, our server looks up which US state your IP address belongs to, using GeoLite2 data from MaxMind that we keep on our own server. Nothing is sent to MaxMind or anyone else to do this, and we do not store the result with your account; your browser keeps it for the rest of your visit. If we cannot tell your state, you are shown the national helpline. This product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from https://www.maxmind.com.
Cookies and similar technologies
- Signing in: cookies that keep you logged in to the site and the blog, and protect forms from misuse. They last longer if you choose Remember Me, and are removed when you log out.
- Your settings: small values kept in your browser (cookies or its local storage) to remember choices such as a selected sport, a dismissed tip or the day shown in the picks bar.
- Analytics and advertising: Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking set cookies to measure visits and the results of our advertising.
- Pop-ups on the blog: OptinMonster shows our email sign-up forms and sets cookies to remember whether you have seen or closed one. An email address you enter there goes to our Mailchimp list.
- Blog comments: if you leave a comment you may choose to save your name, email and website in a cookie for a year, so you do not have to type them again.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, but you will need to log in again. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on and adjust Google’s advertising in your Google ad settings. Our site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the service providers that run parts of the site for us, each for the purpose described above:
- Amazon Web Services: hosting, our database and sending service email;
- Stripe and PayPal: payments;
- Mailchimp and Brevo: email;
- Google: analytics, advertising measurement and Google sign-in;
- Anthropic: the AI assistant and generated previews;
- OptinMonster: sign-up pop-ups on the blog;
- Akismet and Gravatar (Automattic): blog comments;
- Dropbox: backups of the website and its database, kept so the site can be restored after a failure;
- your browser’s push service, if you turn on push notifications.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the site, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.
Selling and advertising
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do use Google’s advertising measurement on the site, which lets Google set cookies and learn that a visit came from one of our ads; some state laws treat that as “sharing” personal information for advertising. You can limit it with the cookie and Google settings above.
How long we keep information
- Your account, subscription history, saved settings, tracked bets and assistant conversations: while your account exists, and deleted when you ask us to close it, except for the records below.
- Payment and transaction records: as long as we need them for tax and accounting, which is several years.
- Server logs: about five weeks.
- Feedback messages and blog comments: until they are no longer needed, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Backups: replaced by newer backups over time; information deleted from the site leaves the backups when the backups that hold it are replaced.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change your name, email address and password on your Account page, turn alerts on or off on the Alerts page, unsubscribe from marketing email with the link in any of them, and cancel your membership from Account → Subscriptions. To get a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have your account and its information deleted, email contact@themoneyballer.com from the address on your account. We will answer within 45 days. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under your state’s privacy law, and we will honor them where they apply. We will not treat you differently for asking.
Children
The site is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is older, to create an account, and the site is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we delete it. If you believe a minor has given us information, email contact@themoneyballer.com.
Security
We protect personal information with safeguards suited to it: passwords are stored only as secure hashes, the site is served only over encrypted connections, and access to our servers and database is restricted. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, email contact@themoneyballer.com.
Where information is stored
The site is operated from the United States and intended for users in the United States. Our servers and database are in the United States, and our service providers process information in the United States and other countries.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we post the new version here with a new date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will tell members by email before it takes effect.
