Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Accounts and memberships
When you create an account or purchase a membership, we collect and store your name, email address, a securely hashed password, and your subscription status and history. We use this information to provide the services you signed up for, manage your subscription, and communicate with you about your account. Saved preferences you create on the site (such as saved filters or dashboards) are stored with your account.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number and full payment details are transmitted directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers; we receive and retain only limited information such as the card brand, last four digits, and the status of your transactions. Stripe processes your data in accordance with its own privacy policy. If you choose to pay with PayPal, your payment details are handled by PayPal under its own privacy policy and we receive only your PayPal account email and transaction status.
If you sign up for our emails or create an account, your email address is stored with our email service provider, Mailchimp (Intuit), which we use to send newsletters and account-related messages. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type). Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data in accordance with Google’s privacy policy; you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. We may also use Google advertising services (such as Google Ads conversion tracking), which set cookies to measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
Push notifications
If you opt in to browser push notifications, they are delivered through PushEngage, which stores a browser subscription identifier for that purpose. You can withdraw consent at any time in your browser’s notification settings.
